The Reading area of Berkshire is fortunate to be surrounded by numerous gravel pits, lakes and rivers.   There are a large number of Carp Waters surrounding The Carp Shack.  With everything a Carp Angler could wish for from small well run clubs, private syndicates and day ticket waters.

In fact within a 10 mile radius of the Carp Shack there must be lakes holding some of the biggest and most stunning carp in the UK.

Whether you are looking for a Runs Water or Rock Hard Syndicate you'll find it within easy reach of the Carp Shack.

Southlake Angling Society is a thriving angling club, situated in Woodley, Berkshire.  The Society has three venues, catering for the specimen hunter, match and pleasure angler alike.  Southlake have some of the best waters in the local area, Southlake being a reknowned Thirties water and an outstanding Winter venue.  Redlands is without a doubt one of the "Up and Coming" waters in the local area, with a fantastic head of Commons and Mirrors.

The Carp Shack is also the only tackle shop outlet for the submission and collection of Southlake Membership.

ATOMIC CHARVIL is in TWYFORD near READING, it has secure parking taking up to 40 cars, with a new gate/height restrictor secured by padlocks on the main entrance on the OLD BATH ROAD,

CANBERRA - Main Lake 16 acres

A mature, gravel, reed lined lake of around 40 years old, has a average depth up to 8ft,countless bars makes this a very interesting lake, there will be 25 swims and a syndicate of 40 people.

Had a low stock of around 25/30 Carp, these are made up of 1 x 40lb mirror 1 x 40lb common, we have added 31 carp up to 28lb,over the next year or so, we intend to raise the stock to around 120 carp. There are also Tench to 14lb

ORRELL - Small Lake 2.87 acres

This gravel lake will be more for the pleasure angler that like’s to catch different species of fish,there will be around 20 swims and this has a season ticket rule.

Depths vary from 6ft to 12 ft, we have stocked around 70 carp to 6lb,plus original stock of Carp to 20lb ,Tench to 12lb,plus Bream,Perch, Pike, Roach etc..

Big Pit Angling. We run a small syndicate on a 400 acre venue in Berkshire called Ameys Pit.

We will be running a waiting list for the small syndicate on a big venue known as Theale Lagoon.

A huge venue with some great carp and the added extra of the unknown!

There will be a maximum of 35 tickets sold each year along with no silly rules.

The Association owns or leases some 25 miles of the River Kennet, River Thames, River Loddon and Kennet & Avon Canal – as well as 14 lakes – comprising some of the most varied and finest fishing in the south of England

This mature lake is absolutely stuffed full of islands, bars, pads bays etc and has a stocking of over 130 carp all generally around the 20lb mark with a good head of those being mid 20's topped off with a growing number of new 30lb fish. The lake record was previously a 48lb common. All the fish are zip linears and heavily scaled mirrors ( proper stunners).

 We have no silly rules. You can use nuts, leadcore, baitboats or even our own boats moored up in some swims. We even have permanent bivvies set up in some swims and wheel barrows in the carpark that you are all welcome to use.Large JRC craddle unhooking mats reside in some swims too. Everything is locked and secure.
T&DFC offer many miles of prime river fishing, including St Patricks Stream with barbel to over 17lb. Still waters range from Causeway lake with its specimen carp, tench and bream, to Pavillions pond where the pleasure angler can easily catch nets of 'wildie' carp, crucians, tench and roach. Located in the Thames Valley the fisheries are easily accessible from Berkshire and the surrounding counties, and less than an hours drive from West London.
