The range of Korda floater gear is the result of several years of development work. There are several members of the Team who are passionate and highly skilled surface anglers which put a wide level of knowledge and experience at our fingertips.

There were several briefs; we wanted new and innovative items that would genuinely aid in catching more carp. They also had to follow our philosophies on colour and blend in perfectly with the surface tone which meant all prototypes had to be photographed from below the water line. The two different types of float had to cast accurately and as quietly as possible, retrieve smoothly and of course be tangle free. Incorporating totally new self material construction and Hydro Dynamic Technology both the Kruiser and the interchangeable Interceptor perfectly fulfil our criteria.

Line and hooks were the other area that needed attention and this lead to the development of Kruiser Control surface mono; a clear, neutral buoyancy line that is incredibly soft and supple and the Mixa hook which we believe to be the first ever developed specifically for surface carp fishing!

With these unique and genuinely innovative items, you can take your surface angling to another level. Happy hunting!

INTERCEPTOR

These missile shaped surface floats are not new to the carp world, this type of float casts a very long way and is ideal for creating a bolt effect on the surface. However if you look at the numerous design additions and developments that Korda have implemented, you will notice just how exceptional this product is. Firstly the nose of the Interceptor houses a size 11 ring swivel, which makes the set-up streamlined and helps to eliminate tangles. Now comes the special bit, most controller type floats are fixed to your line, thus making it difficult to quickly change the size of your float dependent on how far you need to cast. The ingenious design of the Interceptor allows you to change the size of the float simply by pushing on the stem while holding the body and separating the two. The body rides up, off the stem and then off the line via the slot. Quick, easy and convenient!

Using Andy Marchant’s Hydro Dynamic Technology (HDT), the perfect ratio between plastic and a pocket of air was calculated inside the injection moulded product which ensures it self orientates the same way up every time, giving you an orange sight bob to concentrate on. This means that the float is visible from above while being camouflaged from the side which is where a carp would normally be looking it from. Naturally, orange doesn’t work in all light situations, so we always carry spare Interceptors which we have either coloured black with a marker pen, or whitened with Tipp-Ex which works really well.

The final point which proves just how much time has gone into the development of the surface range is the colour. This was concluded after extensive underwater photography, where a consistent pantone of water was visible from below the surface, truly an exact science. Available in 4 sizes, 15g, 20g, 25g & 30g.

KRUISER

Now this is a unique design! The standard controller float has been around for years. Unfortunately it isn’t the stealthiest of products. It dives into the lake on the cast often causing unnecessary disturbance. Additionally the whole set-up is often prone to tangles; an angler’s nightmare. This is where the Kruiser really does excel. Firstly the float will not dive deeply below the surface, spooking your quarry while on the cast, tangles are virtually non existent.

The original concept for the Kruiser came from highly successful surface angler Andy Marchant.  Korda adjusted Andy’s original idea so that the Kruiser sat upright in the traditional ‘skittle style’ and utilised his Hydro Dynamic Technology (HDT) which calculates the exact amount of air required to balance the plastic material used for the body. This means that the Kruiser contains no added lead or weight of any kind and yet casts brilliantly.  Innovatively, the line enters the Kruiser via an aperture at the top which aids casting and helps to reduce tangles. A size 11 ring swivel which connects your hooklink and mainline is perfectly gripped by the small silicone sleeve that fits into the port on the side of the float to giver a safe semi fixed set up.
